Meet our Humanitarian, Bue Wah

At Watsi, we believe in the power of human connection to transform lives.

Today, we'd like you to meet Bue Wah, a humanitarian who brings this mission to life. She is our dedicated Patient Services Manager at Burma Children Medical Fund, one of our longest-standing medical partners. Bue Wah and the BCMF team are changing the face of healthcare along the border region in western Thailand.

Listening to her story gives us hope

After losing her mother at just 14 years old to a complicated childbirth in a refugee camp, Bue Wah's life was forever changed. Born in Karen State, Burma, she and her family fled to Thailand to escape the brutal civil war—the longest-running conflict in the world. Today, she channels her personal loss and resiliency into a force for good. Her mother had nowhere to turn, but now Bue Wah plays a pivotal role in ensuring patients along the border receive the healthcare they desperately need and all of humanity deserves.

Meet Bue Wah and her two children.

A Lifeline for Refugees on the Thai-Burma Border

"Without your support, we will not be able to help as many patients as we are supposed to, so your continued support is very meaningful to us and to our patients. Thank you for recognising our work and even me, even me to be interviewing with you as a part of the team. Thank you so much!", shared Bue Wah.

Every day, Bue Wah meets with patients, listens to their stories, and works tirelessly with her team to connect those in need with life-saving medical care through Watsi.

Your help goes a long way for our humanitarian heroes and patients in need

Covering the cost of patient care means that humanitarians like Bue Wah have the chance to serve more patients and be a voice for the needs of her community. You can be a critical part of ensuring we support Bue Wah and all our local medical partners around the world by joining our Universal Fund with a recurring donation and automatically supporting a Watsi patient each month, all year long.
