Margaret is a health systems expert who served as a Senior Program Officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation for ten years. There, she advised on global and country-level health systems strengthening initiatives and partnerships, was a founding member of the foundation's first Ethiopia Health team, and managed a health systems portfolio spanning pharmaceutical sector reform, health care financing, health policy, and primary health care system performance improvement.
Margaret has also worked at the World Bank, RTI International and the RAND Corporation, and currently provides independent strategy consulting for public, private, and philanthropic organizations. She joined Watsi’s board in 2019 and began her term as Board Chair in 2022.
