Linnea is a physician advisor to Watsi and our medical programs around the world. She serves as a hospitalist physician and started her medical career at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco nearly twenty years ago. As a hospitalist, she aims to provide patients and their families exceptional care and comfort during their acute medical or surgical illness. She has also served as medical director at MAVEN Project, a medical nonprofit that uses telehealth technology to connect providers that serve underserved populations with expert physician volunteers for consults, mentorship and education.
Her journey in healthcare began when volunteering in communities and clinics in Central America and sought to rediscover ways to serve abroad. Watsi answered this exploration as it creates such a unique connection between patients needing life-changing surgical care with people throughout the world. She loves how Watsi uses technology and the collective generosity of many to improve access and wellness for all patients.
Linnea received her medical degree from UC San Diego, masters in public health from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and B.S. from Stanford University. She is dual boarded in Internal Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine. Linnea lives in San Francisco with her husband, two boys, and rescue pup, Roscoe. She can’t live without running and watching cooking shows, though unfortunately, she worries her culinary skills do not reflect this.
