Byron has been passionate about applying technology in the health and social sectors since his college days. He was first introduced to Watsi while studying CS at UC Berkeley as part of a student-run nonprofit called Blueprint that creates technologies for other nonprofits. Prior to joining Watsi, Byron helped create web and mobile apps for nonprofits like Project Homeless Connect, worked on sustainable design in Panama, and did research in various fields from natural language processing at Carnegie Mellon to orthopedics at UCSF. In his free time, he enjoys freestyle jump-roping, climbing, basketball, photography, and learning how to speed-cube.
